Topps and the XFL

Topps is a trading card company based in New York City. What do they have to do with the XFL?

In 2020, Topps released an XFL trading card set. The set contained 175 Cards (Not including insert cards; Inserts are a subset that are randomly put in packs along with the base cards). Parallel cards included Green /99, Purple /50, Blue /25, Red /10, Black /5, and Gold /1. (Parallel cards are limited printings. So the Green /99 only has 99 copies printed, and the Gold /1 only has 1 copy printed.) Hobby boxes (More expensive boxes), had 3 autographs of XFL players in each box (Along with Base, Insert, and Parallel cards). You can find hobby boxes on Ebay for around $60. Blaster Boxes only contained Base, Insert, and Parallel cards, but with a chance to get autographs.

So what does Topps have to do with the current XFL? Topps has released 2 Semi Pro (And American) football card products, one for the AAF (2019) and one for the XFL (2020). Which both leagues ending up failing after the sets were released. There has been rumors that Topps has been working on a USFL set, but that is not confirmed yet. The question becomes, will Topps release a trading card set for the new XFL? If so when will it be released?

For the first question. It seems likely that Topps will release another XFL trading card set, but not until the season has finished. When Topps released the 2020 set, all the pictures were taken during training camp and photo days. Topps should not take this approach again, for alot of product didn't sell. Collectors typicaly like to see players in game action, and not in practice. So for the second question. It only makes sense for Topps to release the set after the season finished.

Topps is a big company and it would make alot of XFL fans happy if they released another XFL set. It's something we hope to see in the future and we really hope it happens.
